Two Pesos Gobierno Provisional De Mexico 1915 Banknote Veracruz P# S1103 CU

  • $ 49.99

Description: A nice crisp uncirculated banknote from Mexico. This is the Veracruz February 5, 1915, scarce 2 pesos banknote issued by the Provisional Government of Mexico (Gobierno Provisional De Mexico). The banknote has a black image on yellow background on the front. The front depicts the image of liberty sitting with an olive branch in her left hand and her right hand resting on a shield with the date 1914with the word Constitution above it and Mexico below it. The center of the front depicts the Mexican arms with an eagle standing on a cactus having a snake in its beak with mountains on the background. The front also shows the date of issue, the denomination, has two signatures, the information about the decree used to issue the note, the serial number, and the series. This note has the serial number 15562278 shown twice in red and is series G. The back of the note is light blue-green with the image of a peso coin in the center. The back also indicates that the note conforms to the decree of 19 September 1914 and has a red treasury round seal with a scalloped edge. The note is in beautiful uncirculated condition. The note has no water mark. Please carefully review scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: February 5. 1915.

Printer: Mexico Oficina del Gobierno.

Size: The banknote measures ~7 1/4" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: S1103a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice crisp uncirculated with all the details being very well preserved. The note has no folds, no soiling, no staining, and no observable roughness along the edges. The note is intact having no losses, no tears, no splits, no pinholes, and no graffiti. Its corners are fully squared, intact with no observable rounding. The note is closely cropped with uneven margins especially at the bottom and side edges. Be that as it may, this is a nice example of this rather elusive banknote, which would make a good addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
