2004 Staffordshire Enamels Round Bombe Trinket Box Exclusively for the Queen Mary 2 Luxury Ocean Liner Made in England
Description: A beautiful round-shaped bombe enamel on copper trinket box by Staffordshire Enamels of England. This box has a hinged lid that is nicely decorated with a transfer depicting a lion within a wreath with a crown on top and the words QEEN MARY 2 under it all within a red-colored rope along the edge of the lid and encircling the design. The image is over a white background. The sides of the box as well as the base are cobalt blue in color. The box has a flat round base with bombe sides. The box is white on the inside with the back of the lid having the notation "QUEEN MARY 2 The World's Most Luxurious Ocean Liner 2004 “. The bottom of the inside is also white and is undecorated. Both top and bottom are fitted with brass rings having a hinge on the back and a thumb piece on the front top portion. The inside of the box is also enameled and has a white coloring. The bottom of the box has the maker's mark consisting of a man with a cane and a woman standing next to each other with the notation "EXCLUSIVELY MADE IN ENGLAND FOR THE QUEEN MARY 2 BY STAFFORDSHIRE ENAMELS" and having the letters CE 04 in white under glaze below it all. The brass ends of both the top and bottom are clean, shiny, and add immensely to the beauty of this box. This is a very nice piece, most likely a given away or possibly sold on board, to the passengers of the Queen Mary 2 in 2004. As such this is most likely a limited issue of this box with that date. It would make a nice addition to your collection of small enameled boxes or Ocean Liner related collection.
