Beautiful Crummles & Co. England Enameled Oval Box Colorful Williamsburg Inn
Description: Offered here is a beautiful lidded enamel on copper box by Crummles & Co. This is a beautiful oval box with a slightly domed hinged lid and a flat bottom. The lid of the box is decorated with colorful transfer image showing a large period building with flags over the entrance, a green front lawn with red flowers, and two trees. There is also a carriage with people in it in the fore ground of the image. The sides and bottom of the box are green. The box's lid is very colorful with red, green, brown, and yellow. The brass hinged lid adds to the beauty of this box. The inside of the bow is also enameled and white in color. The inside of the lid has the words "Williamsburg Inn" written in beautiful calligraphy. It is marked "Made in England by Crummles & Co." on the bottom within an oval shape with the maker's mark in the center. The box is clean and in excellent condition. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The box was made in England.
