English Round Cartier© Enameled Box Christmas 1980 Xmas Tree, Holly & Fireplace
Description: A beautiful small round-shaped enamel on copper box made in England. This box has a hinged lid that is nicely decorated with a colorful Christmas related scene. The lid of the box is decorated with a colorful transfer depicting a decorated Christmas Tree in front of a fireplace with stockings hanging on the mantel and a dog laying down in front of the fireplace. There are holy garlands above the fireplace, candles burning on the tree and the mantel, and a kettle on a stool in front. The side of the box is off-white in color and is decorated with garlands of holly and has the words "Christmas 1980" under the lid's thumb piece. The box has a round flat base with rising sides. The box is white on the inside with the back of the lid having the words "Good Cheer at Christmas" written in beautiful decorative calligraphy. The bottom of the inside is decorated with a drawing depicting a stuffed Christmas stocking. Both top and bottom are fitted with brass rings having a hinge on the back and a thumb piece on the front of the top portion. The inside of the box is also enameled and has a white coloring. The bottom of the box is also off white in color and has the following notation "Cartier (c) MADE IN ENGLAND". The brass ends of both the top and bottom are clean, shiny, and add immensely to the beauty of this box. This is a very nice piece and would make a nice addition to your collection of small enameled boxes. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
