1949 Bank of Belgian Congo Twenty Francs Banknote P 15G Choice Extremely Fine 45

Description: A nice choice extremely fine banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the May 19, 1949 twenty Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo. The banknote is blue with orange design in the background near the top on both sides. The has the image of seven men paddling a dugout canoe in a river. The front is in French and shows the serial number in black twice. This particular note has the serial number AP233555 and has the overprint in black indicating it is "HUITIEM EMISSION-1949". The back has the same color scheme as the front and has the image of a working elephant in the forest. The back has text in Flemish. The note has a watermark depicting an elephant's head. Date: The note is dates 19.05.49 on the front.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~3 1/2". 

Pick Number: P15G and is listed in the Banknote Book as B215d. 

Condition: The banknote is graded Choice Extremely fine 45 by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The coin looks great with a couple of small stains on the back (the side in Flemish) in the margins. It has a bit of waviness along the edges and is lightly soiled. Other than that, it looks great.
