1949 Germany Federal Republic 10 Marks Banknote Bank Deutscher Lander P #16 VF

  • $ 49.99

Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from the German Federal republic. This is the series 1949 Bank Deutscher Lander 10 mark banknote issued 22 August 1949. The banknote is blue with green and orange background. It depicts an allegorical scene consisting of a woman standing with a woman and a man at her feet in the center on the front. The front shows the serial number, the name of the bank, and the denomination. The back is blue with the name of the bank, the date of issue, two signatures, and the denomination. The banknote is dated 22 August 1949. This particular banknote has the serial number R7643133W, which is shown twice in black on the front. The note has two printed signatures displayed near the bottom of the back but has no water mark that we could find. Please carefully review the scan provided as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: August 22, 1949.

Printer: American Bank Note Company, New York.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 5/8".

Pick Number: Pick number 6 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B116a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine with all of its details being well preserved. The banknote has two pinholes above the number 100 to the left of the front suggesting that a staple was removed. Other than that, the note has several vertical folds, a horizontal fold, is soiled, and some bumps at the corners. The note has no large and objectionable stains, but has several small spots here and there. The note has no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact with some minor roughness with the corners being intact with some bumps and some rounding. A nice example of this relatively uncommon banknote that is hard to come by for your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
