Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice piece of redware made in the best Pennsylvania Dutch style by a master potter with the right heritage. A beautiful and very unusual potter's tool in very good condition, destined to be a cherished collectible. It would make a nice addition to your collection.

Condition: The plaque is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or hairlines. It does have general crazing to the glaze. It also has some of the usual manufacturing issues you would expect in such handmade primitive pieces of pottery such as spots where the glaze did not fully flow, where the glaze flowed to where it was not supposed to, pops, slubs, underglaze defects, and surface roughness. This piece has a very limited amount of these issues. Please see photos for additional condition information.
