1958 Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland One Pound Banknote Pick Number 21a VF 25
Description: A very fine Banknote from Rhodesia and Nyasaland. This is the 20th June 1958 one pound currency note issued by the Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. The front of the banknote green on multicolored background. It depicts coat of arms top center, leopard bottom left corner, and the image of queen Elizabeth II to the right. The back, which has the same colors as the front, depicts the image of the great Zimbabwe ruins. The front of the banknote displays the date, the denomination, the serial number and one signature while the back only displays the name of the bank and the denomination. The banknote has a watermark depicting the bust of Cecil Rhoads as well as a solid security thread right of center. This particular note has the serial number X/23 895611 shown twice in black on the front. This is Pick Number 21a. The note is graded Very Fine 25 Net by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The holder has the notation Internal Hole on the back. That elongated hole can e seen in the scans presented. Be that as it may this is a nice example of this elusive banknote offered here at a reasonable price. A beautiful note from a country that no longer exists to add to your collection. Condition: The banknote is graded Very Fine 25 Net by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The holder has the notation Internal Hole on the back. That elongated hole can e seen in the scans presented. Other than the internal hole, the note is great looking with light soiling a few light folds and minimum roughness to the edges. The corners are nicely squared with minimum rounding and no obvious bumps. A very nice example of this elusive banknote offered here at a fraction of its true value.
