Arts & Crafts Rectangular Pewter Trinket Box Overlapping Curved Sides Lift Lid
Description: This is a beautiful vintage arts and crafts pewter box. The box, which has a lift-off lid, is rectangular in shape with relatively high sides. The sides appear to be made of two matching curved portions brought together, by hammering and possibly soldering, to form the sides of the box. The bottom of the box is a flat sheet of pewter that is soldered to the sides. The lid, which is also made of pewter consists of a slightly domed top with a double lip which fits the box in only one way to close. The box is unmarked and undecorated except for the overlapping portions of the sides. It is truly an interesting and rather unusual piece worthy of a spot of your collection of vintage trinket boxes. Please carefully review photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a beautiful arts and Crafts box worthy of a spot in your collection of trinket boxes.
Condition: Box is in good condition with no breaks or repairs. It has scratches to the surface, some dings especially along the edge of the base, and minor soiling. The corners of the base are slightly bent. The lift-off lid, which consists of a slightly domed top and has a double lip fits the box in only one way to close. Be that as it may, these issues do not distract from the box's quality and beauty. The box is soiled and it would benefit from a good cleaning, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner.
