2018 Hand Carved Polychrome Painted Wooden Primitive Tall Neck Parrot Figure By Daniel and Donna Strawser

Description: A hand carved wood and polychrome painted American Folk Art figure. The carving shows a bird having a tall neck standing on a green elevated base. The bird is colored in tan coloring and has wings that have red circles with white centers and black colored highlights. The bird's legs are carved in the Wilhelm Schimmel style with the fat tows and segmented leg. According to Dan Strawser this is a tall neck parrot. It has a yellow beak, white eyes and red coloring on top of its head. The carving shows quite a bit of details. The entire piece appears to be carved from a single piece of wood. Just a wonderful and nicely done piece of American Folk Art to add to your Americana Collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Origin: Although originally from Robesonia, Lancaster County. Daniel Stawser lives in Maine with his wife Donna.

Size and Weight: Measures ~9" high with the base measuring ~2 1/8" by ~2". The piece weighs about 6 ounces.

Maker: Daniel and Donna Strawser.

Marks: Marked in black coloring on the base ”DAN & DONNA STRAWSER 2018.” Donna painted the piece while Daniel is the carver.
