Antique Primitive Hand Made Eight 10" Tube Candles Tin Mold With Loop Handle

Description: A beautiful antique primitive candle mold. This is a tube candle mold to make eight 10" long tube candles. The mold has an applied loop handle on one side. The mold also has small openings at the end to allow for the wick to stay out of the candle. The piece is soldered together and is very well done. A very interesting antique tin mold in excellent condition. It would make a great addition to your collection. Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late 1800s.

Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania, where it was most likely made.

Size: The mold measures ~5 5/8" by ~3 1/2" on the flat end, it is ~5 1/4" at its widest including the loop hand, and it is ~10" long with eight tubes to make candles. The piece weighs almost 15 ounces.

Marks: Unmarked.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very nice primitive tin American primitive piece in great shape and worthy of a spot in your collection.

Condition: The mold is intact with some wear to the surface and minor rust spots. It is in good condition with no major break, losses, or repairs. The surface has some scratches and minor dings but nothing of true concern. The only thing we see is a break of the solder in one of the corners of the flat portion (the top), which can be seen in the fifth photo. The entire piece has developed a nice warm gray patina with age and looks great. It would make an excellent addition to your antique primitive collection.
