Pam Hults Framed Scherenschnitte Hand Painted Scissor Cutting Love Birds Flowers

Description: A very nice, large size, framed scherenschnitte or scissor cutting art. The piece depicts a two birds facing each other with flowers all around. The image is frames within a paper frame with  the artist's signature in the center of the bottom. The birds are yellowish brown with red highlights in  the wings and details in black coloring of the eyes and the feathers. The flowers are also yellowish brown with red centers and are supported by stems having green colored leaves. The cutting is mounted on black paper and framed in a brown colored wood frame having a black colored edge. The brown frame has small black spots throughout. The frame has a brown paper backing and a small metal bracket in the center of the top to hang from. There is also a hole in  the bottom of the back, where a round peg can be inserted so as to set the  piece on a table top. Unfortunately, we do not have the peg.  The entire piece is reminiscent of Pennsylvania German Scherenschnitte art and has been antiqued to give the impression that it is old. It is well done and the art work is top notch. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.  

Date: Date unknown but the piece is contemporary.   

Origin: Purchased at an auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The frame measures ~14" by ~9", while the art itself measures about 11 1/4" by 6 1/4". The piece weighs almost one and a half pounds.

Marks: Signed PJ Rankin Hults in black ink in the center of the bottom of the art work.   

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice piece of modern Pennsylvania Dutch art made by a contemporary artist with the Pennsylvania German heritage. It would make a nice decorative piece or a great addition to your collection of scissor cutting art or Pennsylvania Dutch art collection.   

Condition:  The piece is in very good condition with no losses to the artwork and no fading of the colors. The frame is solid, intact, and in very good condition. The frame has a few scratches and nicks but these do not distract from its beauty or quality of the piece.  Unfortunately, we DO NOT have the peg, which can be inserted in the bottom of the back of the frame, so as to set the  piece on a table top. Please review the photos for additional condition information.
