Antique Victorian Wall Hanging Wood Wooden Two Compartment Match Holder

  • $ 99.99

Description: This is an antique Victorian wood hanging match holder. The match holder has two compartments on the front for matches. The piece has a flat back and a small metal loop on top for hanging. The piece is made of wood and has a dark brown colored finish. It does have finial like decoration above and below the two compartments. The entire piece appears to have been built with glue since there are no signs of nails being used. There are two small holes in the back, but they do not reveal the presence of nails or to be connected to any of the elements on the front. The piece does not have a striker or a rough surface where a match can be rubbed to initiate a flame. This must have been relegated to another surface nearby. A nice old piece to add to your collection. Please carefully view the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
