Beautiful Antique Pennsylvania Carved Wood Half-round Pineapple Design Butter Print Toothed Border and Knob Handle
Description: A beautiful nice size antique carved Pennsylvania softwood half-round butter print. This butter print is made of softwood and has a nice semi-circular print. It has a carving depicting a pineapple surrounded by branches and leaves. The design is surrounded by a toothed border on top. The butter print, which is thick has an attached knob like handle which is attached to the center of the back of the print with what appears to be a nail. The entire piece is made of wood. Date: Uncertain, but most likely early to mid 1800s.
Origin: Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Measures ~7" by ~3 3/8" at the flat design part and is ~4" high. The piece itself weighs about 5 ounces.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice antique butter print with a nice and very desirable design that is difficult to come by. it would make a great addition to your butter print collection. Condition: The piece is in very good condition given its age and utilitarian function. The piece honest normal age and use wear. It shows general wear and a few age cracks. The nail holding the handle shows signs of rust. The piece has nicks, bangs, scratches, and minor losses here and there all of which can be seen in the photos.
