Halcyon Days Enamels England Christmas 1981 Round Box Birds Holly Berries Ribbon
Description: A 1981 beautiful lidded enamel on copper round box by Halcyon Days Enamels of England. The box looks very much like the antique (18th century) Battersea enameled patch or snuff boxes in shape and profile. The box is decorated with very colorful drawing depicting birds, holly plants with red berries, and a ribbon. The top of the lid has the words Christmas 1981 written in black in the center. The sides of the box, which are curved in shape, has decoration showing the same birds on the lid and the holly plant. The inside of the lid has a drawing of showing bird perched on a holly branch. Of course, as is always the case with these English enamels these decorations are transfers as opposed to being hand painted. The bottom of the box is white and has the maker's mark. The brass hinged lid adds to the beauty of this dainty box with an outward extending thumb piece. This is a very nice piece to add to your collection of small enameled boxes or Christmas related collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
