Description: A beautiful small round-shaped enamel on copper box by Halcyon Days Enamels of England. This box has a hinged lid that is nicely decorated with a colorful Christmas related scene. The lid of the box is decorated with a colorful transfer depicting Santa with a list in his hand and toys all around him. The image is within a Christmas wreath which has a red ribbon and pine cones. The side of the box is decorated with small vignettes depicting elves working and building toys. The vignettes are separated by green vegetation with pine cones hanging from a red ribbon which goes all around the circumference of the box. The box has straight rising sides and a flat round base. The box is white on the inside with the back of the lid having the image of a scroll with writing quill and the words "He's making a list and checking it twice..." written on the scroll. The bottom of the inside is not decorated. Both top and bottom are fitted with brass rings having a hinge on the back and a thumb piece on the front top portion. The inside of the box is also enameled and has a white coloring. The bottom of the box is white and has the maker's mark as well as the name of the store Neiman Marcus that commissioned the box to sell at their stores in 1988. The brass ends of both the top and bottom are clean, shiny, and add immensely to the beauty of this box. This is a very nice piece and would make a nice addition to your collection of small enameled boxes. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size: The enameled box is ~1 1/2" diameter at the base and is ~1 1/8" high to the top of the lid. This small box weighs about 1.3 ounces.

Maker: Halcyon Days Enamels.

Marks: Marked on the bottom with the Halcyon Days mark consisting of the words "Halcyon Days Enamels England; Bilston & Battersea Enamels Revival" in an oval shape with the British Royal arms and the indication that they are appointed by the queen of England on top of the oval. There is also the name Neiman Marcus in script calligraphy below the mark. See photos for additional details.
