Halcyon Days Enamels Oval Trinket Box Colorful Garden Scene and Wise Saying
Description: A beautiful small oval-shaped enamel on copper trinket box by Halcyon Days Enamels of England. This box has a hinged lid that is nicely decorated with a colorful transfer depicting a garden scene with a pass and hills in the horizon, there are flower all along the sides of the scene with the following words in the center; "LIVE every day as if it was your last and GARDEN as if you will live FOREVER". The image is on a light blue and orange background with green grass and a brown pass in the image itself. The side of the box is decorated with small vignettes depicting floral arrangements on a lattice fence with light blue background. The box has a flat oval base with straight rising sides. The box is white on the inside with the back of the lid having the image of floral design in its center in black line drawing. The bottom of the inside is not decorated. Both top and bottom are fitted with brass rings having a hinge on the back and a thumb piece on the front top portion. The inside of the box is also enameled and has a white coloring. The bottom of the box is white and has the maker's mark. The brass ends of both the top and bottom are clean, shiny, and add immensely to the beauty of this box.
