Date: Uncertain but most likely sometime in 1960s-1980.
Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Size: The piece measures ~2 3/4" by ~2" at the base, is ~5 1/2" at its highest, and is ~4" at its widest. The piece weighs almost 8.5 ounces.
Maker: John R Dierwechter. Mr. Dierwechte lived in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania and died in 1996.
Marks: Marked on the bottom with the impressed letters JRD within three separate rectangles.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Truly a nice and colorful piece of American Folk Art, which would make a great addition to your collection.
Condition: The bird is in excellent condition, with no breaks, cracks, losses, or repairs. It does have some minor scratches and minor paint losses. The piece is also a bit soiled but all of these issues are minor and difficult to see. Other than that, the piece is in excellent condition and looks great.
