Vintage Carved Meerschaum Pipe Bearded Man with Tasseled Headdress
Description: Vintage carved meerschaum pipe with an yellow green stem. The carving is of a head of a bearded man wearing a hat or a turban with tassels. The pipe has acquired the beautiful reddish brown patina normal with use around the tobacco opening. The detailed carving is so well done it almost jumps to life. Please look at the nose, eyes, the details of the hair in the beard, mustache and eyebrows. This pipe is very detailed and is in very nice used condition. The bowl shows that it has been extensively used, please see photos. The pipe is relatively clean, but has a strong smell of tobacco and the stem could use some cleaning.
Date: Mid to late 1900's.
Origin: Probably continental.
Size: ~7" long including the stem, the bowl is ~2 3/4" high and 1 1/2" wide.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice pipe, which would make a great addition to any collection.
Condition: The pipe is in very good condition consistent with its age and normal use. It has no repairs, cracks or chips, see pictures.
