Vintage Carved Painted and Lacquered Figural Wood Match Holder Dog in Front of Tree
Description: A wonderful and very unusual wood carving. We believe this is a hard wood carving showing a dog on his hind legs standing in front of tree trunk. The tree trunk is hollow and we believe would serve as a match holder. The carving is well details and shows the dog's face, with eyes and ears. The dog's body shows details of its fur, its legs, its tail, and paws. The piece is colored in dark brown with lighter yellowish brown highlights. The bottom of the piece is unpainted and shows the wood rings. This piece is definitely made by an accomplished artist and looks great.
