Antique 1896 Ruby Flash Glass Tall Pitcher with Handel Atlantic City NJ "Mother"

Description:  A very nice antique ruby flash glass small tall pitcher with a handle. The pitcher has a round base with a recessed center and a foot extending outwards. The bottom portion of the pitcher, which is about a third of the height, is of clear glass with hexagonal shaped dips flanked by triangular dips on pointing to the top and the other pointing to the bottom in a repeating pattern. The top portion of the pitcher is red in color in the usual Ruby Flash fashion and has a raising spout. The piece also has an applied clear glass handle. The one side of the top has the words "Atlantic City 1896", while the other has the word "Mother" in cursive calligraphy lettering. The piece was a souvenir from Atlantic City NJ purchased in 1896 possibly for someone's mother. The piece has a label with the number 2017.35.1 attached to the base, most likely the number assigned to it by the previous owner as part of his/her collection. Nice piece of antique glass in exceptionally good condition to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date:  The piece is marked 1896.

Origin:  Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania USA. 

Size: The pitcher is ~7 3/4" tall to the tip of the spout, is ~~5" at its widest including the handle and the spout, and ~3" in diameter at the base. The piece weighs slightly over one pound and 4 ounces. 

Maker:  Unknown.

Marks:  Unmarked as to the maker. The piece has a label with the number 2017.35.1 attached to the base, most likely the number assigned to it by the previous owner as part of his/her collection. 

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece:  A nice antique piece in exceptionally good condition to add to your collection of Ruby Flash Glass souvenirs. 

Condition:  The pitcher is in excellent condition given it is over 128 years old. It has no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The colors are vivid and with minimal, if any, losses. The lettering also is all there with no observable losses. The piece is soiled and would benefit from a good cleaning, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner. Be that as it may, the piece is fantastic and would make a nice addition to your collection.  Please see photos for additional condition information.
