Navajo Tribe Black on Red Pottery Pot Snake Feathers Bear Paw Signed Kim Licheni
Description: A contemporary signed black on red Navajo Tribe type black on red pot. This pot has a round base with rounded sides rising to a small raised opening. The sides of the pot are decorated with a design showing a snake's head with an arrow tongue and a body of down pointing feathers or knives. There is also what looks like a bear's paw with a turquoise stone within it on the opposite side. The designs are incised and the raised portion in colored in black and glazed. The glazed black design is over the original redware of the pot. The top opening is of glazed black coloring as is the bottom half of the pot. The piece is signed by the maker Kim Licheni in cursive calligraphy on the unglazed redware bottom. A nice piece of Native American Indian pottery worthy of a spot in your collection or to decorate your home. Please see photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size: The pieces measures ~6 1/2" in diameter. ~3 3/4" in diameter at the base, with the top opening being ~1 3/4" in diameter, and the piece being ~ 4 3/4" tall. The pot weighs slightly over one pound and 11 ounces.
Maker: Kim Licheni.
Marks: The piece is signed by the maker "Kim Licheni" in cursive calligraphy on the unglazed redware bottom.
