Beautiful Roseville Pottery 1940s Brown Clematis Fan/Cornucopia Vase 193-6"

Description: A most beautiful brown colored art pottery fan or cornucopia shaped Vase having a rectangular base. This great piece of decorative art pottery is made by the Roseville Pottery Company. This nominal 6" tall piece is in the Clematis pattern. The pattern shows broad blossoms of six petals with a trailing vine on textured background of brown and green coloring on both sides of the piece. It was made from 1944 on. Date: Sometime post 1944.

Origin: The piece was purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It was of course made in Roseville, Ohio. Size: The piece measures ~6 1/4" at its tallest with the base measuring ~4 3/8" by ~3 3/4". The piece weighs slightly over one pound and 11 ounces.

Maker: Roseville Pottery Company

Marks: In relief on the bottom of the base the words "Roseville, U. S. A. 193-6" which can be seen in the photos.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a truly nice piece which is uncommon and relatively difficult to come by. The colors are rich, fresh and vivid and it would display very well in your collection.

Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no cracks, hairlines, repairs, or crazing to the glaze. The piece is lightly soiled and would probably benefit from a good cleaning, but we leave that to the new owner. The foot of the base is a bit spiled as can be seen in the photos. The piece is great looking and would display nicely. A great and rather uncommon piece to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
