Nice 1853 Three-Cent Silver Coin Graded VF25 by NGC

Description: A beautiful silver 1853 three-cent piece (Trimes). This is a Type 1 coin and is graded by NGC as Very Fine "VF25" and is in a plastic slab so labeled. It's mintage is 11,400,000. The coin itself is better than the scan suggests and still has well preserved details with all the star points are visible as well as most of the outline of the shield on the obverse. The date is very readable as are all the legends. As you can see from the photo, the details on the reverse are also well preserved and all there with observable wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin is toned and has nice eye appeal. These coins were designed by James Longacre and were minted in Philadelphia and New Orleans. This coin is from the Philadelphia mint. Early US coins such as this are gradually getting difficult to find. Please carefully review the scans provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size and weight: ~0.80 grams of a 0.75 silver and is ~14 mm in diameter. The coin has the plain edge design.
