Clear Green Heisey Glass Covered Dish or Bowl Knob Like Finial
Description: Offered here is a beautiful and rather rare green Heisey Glass covered dish or bowl. This Heisey glass piece has a dome shaped lid or cover with a central six-facet finial. The lid has nice raised design in the form of alternating lines and smooth areas which start above the edge of the lid and end at a smooth or clear circle surrounding the finial. The lid has two opposing recessed portions, which fit raised rectangles on the rim of the bottom portion of the bowl thus holding the lid in place. The bowl has a round flat base with a star design having a diamond displaying the "H" for Heisey. The bowl has sides which are slightly outwards flared and decorated with the same pattern on top of the lid consisting of alternating sets of raised lines and smooth areas. This is a rather rare color and shape that seldom comes by. A great piece to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Size and Weight: The bowl measures ~3 1/4" in height to the top of the finial and is ~4 1/4" in diameter at the base. The piece weighs a little over one pound.
Condition: Overall the piece is in very good condition. The piece has no cracks, hairlines, breaks, or repairs. The piece is clean and the glass is clear with no clouding scratches. The only two issues we see is a small chip at the edge of the lid which we show in the 10th photo and a ~3/4" scratch on the inside of the lid which we show in the 11th photo. Both these issues are difficult to see and the piece still looks great and is worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see the photos for additional condition information.
