Vintage Fenton Carnival Glass Red Slag Iridescent Ruffled Edge Bowl Peacock and Grape Design

  • $ 350.00

Description:  A beautiful blue and iridescent appearance (red slag appearance) Carnival Glass bowl. The bowl has a repeating pattern design of a raised peacock with an open tail and a bunch of grapes alternating. The bowl also has a central 8 pint star. The edge of the bowl has the saw tooth pattern. The exterior of the bowl has a raised design of berries and leaves along the rim and going down about 2/3 of the way towards the base. The exterior is also very nicely iridescent and has gold and red coloring over the blue-purple base color. Please see Glen and Stephen Thistlewood book "Carnival Glass: The Magic and the Mystery" published by Schiffer Books in 1998 page 67 for a similar example. The design of this piece is just beautiful.
