1924 One Pound Banknote National Bank of Egypt Signed Hornsby P12b PMG 20 VF
Description: A nice very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the 12th January 1924 one pound currency note. The banknote, which was issued by the "National Bank of Egypt" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden Surrey, England, has a blue design on pink and green underprint on the front. It shows the gate of Gunsu temple in Karnak with palm trees to the left of the front. The back of the note is greenish blue on pink with a guilloche pattern. The front is in both English and Arabic and shows the bank's name, the serial number, and the denomination, while the back is in Arabic and shows the name of the bank and denomination. The note is signed by Bertram Hornsby and displays his signature on the front. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center and in numerals by the left and right edges of the front. The note has the denomination in numerals only on the back. This particular note has the serial number 084,002 displayed two times in black on the front and is series V/16. The banknote has no watermark. It is graded as 20 Very Fine by PMG and comes in a plastic holder that is marked as such. Condition: The note is graded as 20 Very fine by PMG and comes in a plastic holder that is so labeled. It is nice looking and shows folds and creases, some soiling and rounded corners. You can also see small nicks along the edges especially at the ends of the folds and has some light graffiti. The holder notes the presence of tear. The note has no large and objectionable stains.
