1962 South African Reserve Bank One Rand Banknote Van Riebeeck P# 103b AU 58 EPQ

Description: A beautiful Choice About Uncirculated Banknote with Exceptional Paper Quality from South Africa. This is the South African Reserve Bank no date one rand known to have been introduced in 1962 and circulated up to 1965. The banknote is rust brown over multicolored underprint in the front. It displays the portrait of Jan Van Riebeeck in an round frame to the left of the front. The front also depicts the denomination written in English and Afrikaans as well as in numerals. The back is also brown and displays the lion and banner from the coat of arms in the center. The note is written in English on top of Afrikaans on the front and is also in both languages on the back. It is signed by Rissik making it P103b. The front has one signature and the serial number as well as the denomination. This particular note has the serial number A over 124 947227, which is displayed twice on the front in black. The back only displays the name of the bank and the denomination. The note has a watermark displaying the portrait of Jan Van Riebeeck and has no security thread. It is graded Choice About Uncirculated 58 EPQ by PMG and comes in a plastic holder soo labeled.
