Early Green Wedgwood Jasperware Footed Console Bowl Women, Children, and Trees

Description: A beautiful Wedgwood large and substantial footed green colored console bowl. The bowl is round having a round footed flat base supporting a large round bowl with slightly curved sides ending a flared rim. The piece is colored in matte green color with white cameo style decoration all around the exterior. The cameo decorations show women dressed in ancient Greek style dresses in various activities. There is also, children, trees, and plants throughout the circumference of the exterior of the bowl. The top and bottom edges of the bowl and the foot are decorated with a repeating foliate design. The bowl has a round flat and depressed base with markings saying "Wedgwood" then on the other side of the foot it says "Made in England" in two lines and the number "75" too the right and the letter "H" to the left. This is a nice, unusual, and highly decorative Jasperware bowl with a beautiful decorative motif on the sides. It is marked as to the maker on the underside of the base. It would make a nice addition to any collection or as a great gift for the avid collector. Please carefully view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Uncertain but the markings suggest the piece was made some time in the period 1898-1906.  

Origin: England.

Size: The pieces measure ~5 1/2" in diameter at the base, ~8" in diameter for the top and is ~5 1/4" high. The bowl weighs a bit almost 4 pounds. 

Maker: Wedgwood.  

Marks: Stamped on the bottom of the base "Wedgwood" then on the other side of the foot it says "Made in England" in two lines and the number "75" too the right and the letter "H" to the left. There are also the letters AE and the number 8 stamped on the base.  

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice old piece or green Wedgwood in great condition with beautiful and vivid colors, which would make a great addition to your Wedgwood pottery collection.  

Condition: The bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or crazing. The piece is soiled especially along the edges at the bottom of the base and the top just below the decorated edge. The piece also has some minor blemishes here and there, all of which can be seen in the photos. Be that as it may, this is great piece which would display very well in your collection.
