Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very nice old piece of redware made in Southeastern of Pennsylvania that is in good condition after being around for many years. A nice piece to add to your collection.
Condition: The bottle or flask is in good condition with no cracks, repairs, or hairlines. The flask has general crazing that is difficult to see because of its coloring but is there. The piece has several surface chips with one rather obvious at the shoulder (see 4th photo) and has a few spots where the glaze has flaked off. The piece also has some of the usual making defects you would expect in a primitive piece of redware of this vintage such as pops, uneven spots, surface roughness, slubs, areas where the glaze did not fully flow, and unglazed spots. Be that as it may, the bottle is solid, intact, beautiful, and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
