1970 English Royal Doulton Hand Painted Bone China Woman Figurine Ninette NH2379
Description: A nice and beautiful vintage porcelain or bone china figurine of a lady standing in a yellow and violet colored dress with flowers in her hair. She is holding her dress up with her right hand and resting her other hand on the dress. The lady is standing with her head looking sideways and slightly tilted up. She has gray with black highlights hair, beautiful eyes, red lips, and red cheeks. The figurine was designed by leading Doulton artist Peggy Davis in 1970 and issued from 1971 to 1997. This is a piece of hand painted and nicely crafted bone china. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Uncertain but sometime in the period 1971 to 1997. The piece has been discontinued by Royal Doulton.
Origin: England.
Size: It is ~8" high, with the base being ~4 3/4" by ~4 1/4". The piece weighs over one pound 4 ounces.
Maker: Royal Doulton.
Marks: Has the Royal Doulton mark on the base with the notation Ninette and HN2379 below it. It is also marked with the legend "COPR. 1970; DOULTON & CO LIMITED" below it. Then a series of additional number below it all. There is also what appears to be the initials TD above the mark which we assume are the initials of the artist who painted the piece. There is also a pressed mark, which we are unable to decipher. Please see last two photos for additional details.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, crazing to the glaze, or repairs. It has some soiling on the foot where it would sit on a surface. Other than that, the piece is superb. Just a very colorful and beautiful old piece of Royal Doulton art pottery. Please view photos to appreciate quality of the piece and for additional condition information.
