Antique Blown Glass Shaker Opaque Pink to White Cord and Tassel Pattern Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company

  • $ 49.99

Description:   A beautiful pink and white colored opaque glass mold blown shaker in the Cord and Tassel pattern. This shaker which is colored in opaque pink-to-white shading has a raised motif of inter-twining cords and tassels on the upper two thirds of the shaker. The shaker is made of mold blown glass and has a light pink opaque background on the bottom two thirds which progresses to white on the top third or so. The design or pattern is raised and is really very nicely done. The shaker has a screw on metal top, which may or may not be original to the piece, but is of the period. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date:  1894-1900.

Origin:  Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania

Size:  ~2 1/2" in diameter at its widest and it is ~2 1/8" tall including the metal top.

Maker:  Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company

Marks:  No markings.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece:  This is a nice and very scarce shaker. Please see Mildred & Ralph Lechner Book "The World of Salt Shakers," Published by Collector Books of Paducah Kentucky in 1992, page 43.

Condition:  The shaker is in very good condition with no cracks, repairs or hairlines that we could find.  The metal cap is also in good shape with a few minor bumps and is stained throughout. However, we believe the cap may not be original to the piece, but appears to be a period cap. The shaker also shows general roughness around the top edge, which is original to the making, which can be seen in the photos. Please see photos to appreciate its beauty and condition.
