Antique Hand Painted Signed Miniature Of Woman in Brass Frame W/ Original Case
Description: An Antique very well-done hand painted miniature of a woman on what appears to be a piece of celluloid. The miniature shows this woman with brown hair and brown eyes looking at you. The painting is signed with a name we are unable to make out completely. The miniature is framed in an oval brass frame with a loop on top. We have popped the brass frame open and observed that the painting is on a celluloid type material. The frame is inserted in a case with hinged cover and a stand on the back. The back of the case's cover is padded and is of velour like material. The exterior of the case is covered with brown material, which shows considerable wear, and has a golden decoration on the lid. The cover is hinged on the outside with the inside having a silky blue material that extends for the entire length of the case hiding the hinge from view. It blue silky cover is damaged on one side and still intact on the other side (see photos for details). The cover of the case has a locking mechanism with a release button that works well. The painting and the brass oval frame are in very good condition as is the velour backing of the frame, which has minimum wear. The case has considerable wear but is intact on the outside and has its left side on the inside with a large tear. Be that as it may, the piece is very nice and would make a nice addition to you collection of miniatures. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
