Baby Nursery Rhyme Alphabet China Dish Jack and Jill German Transfer Ware
Description: Antique transfer ware deep baby dish made in Germany. This nursery rhyme transfer decorated china baby dish is round with deep slightly flared sides that terminate in a flattened rim. The inside is decorated with a transfer of Jack and Jill with the rhyme written above them "Jack and Jill went up the hill; To fetch a pail of water". The rhyme is written on a light yellow background which proceeds to a light blue shade background. The top of the flattened rim has the alphabet and numbers stenciled in gold color.

Maker: GW Co. Marks: Marked on the bottom with triangular shaped maker's mark containing "GW Co." with the word Germany above it all in green color under the glaze.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice china Nursery Rhyme alphabet baby dish.
Condition: Plate is in very good condition given its age an utilitarian function. It has no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing or repairs. It does have utensil marks and quite a bit of loss to the transfer image with the boy and girl. Letters and writing also show significant wear.
