Beautiful 1991 AK Kaiser Porcelain Stein Pewter Lid Horsemen with Trumpets
Description: A great looking circa 1991 glazed porcelain stein having a pewter lid with a ball thumb piece. The stein which has the crowned AK Keiser mark on the bottom is dated 1991. It has a repeating scene depicting men riding horses and dressed in period attire with hats having large colorful balls on top. The men are blowing through long trumpets held in their hands. The design is very nice and colorful. It is well done and shows horses in gray colors and gold colors. The horsemen are dressed in and gold and their horns have flags. The entire colorful design is on a white background. The stein has a round base with straight onwards slanted sides ending in a plain rim supporting the round slightly domes pewter lid. The stein has an applied handle on which the hinge for the lid is attached. It has a round recessed bottom with a blue colored mark under glaze. The mark consists of the crowned letters AK with the word KAISER below it. There is also the date 1991 in gold coloring. This is a stein having great appearance and style with white colored interior. A nice and substantial stein weighing about one pound and 13 ounces. A beautiful stein to add to your collection. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Measures ~4 1/2" diameter at the base, ~3 3/4" diameter on top, ~6" at its widest including the handle, is ~5 1/2" high to the top of the lid, and is ~6 1/2" high to the top of the ball shaped thumb piece. The piece weighs about one pound and 13 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice piece of breweriana pottery with very nice decoration and in excellent condition. It would make a nice addition to your collection of art pottery, lidded steins or beer related items.
Condition: The piece is in very good condition and we believe it was probably never used and remains relatively clean and intact. It has no cracks, chips, hairlines, repairs, or crazing to the glaze. The lid is intact and the hinge is solidly in place. It is slightly soiled and could probably benefit from a good cleaning. This stein will display very nicely in your collection.
