English Royal Doulton Figurine Woman Brown Dress Holding Parasol Julia HN 2705
Description: A nice and rather beautiful vintage porcelain or bone china figurine of a lady standing in a brown colored dress and holding a parasol in her hand. The lady has dark hair with a brown hat n top held with a yellow scarf. She is wearing a thin necklace. She is standing with her head tilted sideways and holding the yellow scarf with one hand while holding the parasol with her other hand. She has beautiful sleepy eyes, red lips, and red cheeks. The figurine was designed by Peggy Davies in the 1970s and was in production till it was discontinued in 1990. This is a piece of hand painted and nicely crafted bone china. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Uncertain but sometime between 1974 and 1990. The piece has been discontinued by Royal Doulton.
Origin: England.
Size: It is ~7 1/2" high, with the base being ~4" by ~4". The piece weighs about one pound. Maker: Royal Doulton. Marks: Has the Royal Doulton mark on the base and is also marked "JULIA" under the mark. It also shows the legend "NH 2705; (c) ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LTD. 1974; REG APPLIED FOR" and a couple additional light marks and numbers. Please see last two photos for additional details.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, or repairs. The piece has general crazing to the glaze, which is hard to see but is there suggesting that this is an earlier example of the figurine. It has some soiling on the foot where it would sit on a surface and residue of old labels on the bottom. Other than that, the piece is superb. Just a very colorful and beautiful piece. Please view photos to appreciate quality of the piece and for additional condition information.
