Royal Doulton Porcelain Figurine Biddy Pennyfarthing Woman W/ Flowers & Balloons
Description: A nice vintage bone China figurine of a lady standing with a basket and balloons on one arm and a bouquet of flowers in her hand. This is the Royal Doulton Biddy Pennyfarthing HN1843 Figure. The lady is wearing a pink blouse with a delicate hand-painted pattern, simple off-white skirt and a white apron, a black scarf around her neck, and a black shawl with purple fringe draped over her shoulders. She has a multicolored headpiece with a yellow flower. She has a bunch of multicolored balloons, and a basket of yellow-brown flowers on her left arm for sale, and a bunch of flowers in her right hand. This figurine is titled "Biddy Pennyfarthing" and represents another of Leslie Harradine wonderful designs. The figurine is marked by the Royal Doulton company and has the number HN1843. It was issued by Royal Doulton n the period 1938-1998 and has been retired. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: This figurine is discontinued and was manufactured in the period 1938 to 1998.
Origin: England.
Size: It is ~8 1/2" high, with the base being by ~2 7/8" by ~ 2 3/4". The figurine weighs slightly over one and a half pounds.
Maker: Royal Doulton, originally an A. L. Harradine Creation.
Marks: Has the Royal Doulton mark and is also marked "Biddy Pennyfarthing" and has the characters HN 1843 with the number 9 in dark green under-glaze. There is also an impressed mark on the bottom which we are unable to identify.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, crazing to the glaze, or repairs. It is lightly soiled with some darkening along the edge of the base. This figurine was issued by the Royal Doulton company in the period 1938-1998 and has been discontinued after that. Just a very colorful and beautiful piece to add to your collection.
