Vintage Footed Porcelain Bowl Floral Design Cobalt Blue and Gold Highlights Marked 2/8491
Description: This is a beautiful vintage porcelain footed bowl. This delicate bowl is hand painted and decorated with a beautiful floral design surrounded with cobalt blue leaves all highlighted with beautiful gold coloring. The design near the top rim is done over an orangish yellow background, while the design in the center of the bowl and on the outside are on the uncolored white porcelain. The piece has a nice scalloped foot with a neck supporting the bowl itself. The bowl itself has a scalloped rim which has gold coloring all along it as is the edge of the foot. The bottom of the bowl has marking in red which appears to be the numbers 2/8491 and having the number 2 again below it all. Just a gorgeous bowl worthy of a spot in your collection. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 1900's.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size and Weight: The base measures ~3 5/8" in diameter at the base, ~3 1/2" high, and is ~7" in diameter at the top. The piece weighs almost 13 ounces.
Maker: Unknown.
Marks: Marked 2/8491 the number 2 below it (see last photo).
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Just a very nice hand decorated piece of porcelain to add to your collection.
Condition: In excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips. or repairs. The glaze is beautiful with general crazing mostly in the yellow colored areas. The piece has very vivid and fresh colors with no losses. The piece has a beautiful ring when you tap on it indicating that it is a of the highest quality porcelain.
