1796 Silver Coin Mexico 8 Reales Mint Mark Mo FM Charles IIII of Spain NGC AU 53

Description: A great looking about uncirculated 1796 Mexican crown size silver coin. This is the Charles IIII 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Charles the fourth of Spain, facing right, on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "CAROLUS.IIII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1796 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPAN.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark "Mo" then "8R. F.M." all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin truly beautiful and shows all the details very well. It has great eye appeal and has nice heft to it. This is KM# 109, should weigh ~27 grams of 0.896 silver and measuring ~39 millimeters. The coin is graded AU 53 by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. Condition: The coin is graded AU 53 by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. It has all its details well preserved with minor wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin has even wear on both sides with scratches as well as bag marks to the surface which can be seen in the photos. The coin is generally very beautiful and clean with honest wear.
