1649 Austria Silver Coin 3 Kreuzer Ferdinand III or Charles Archduke NGC AU 55+

Description: Beautiful about uncirculated small silver coin from Austria. This is the 1649 three Kreuzer silver coin. The coin depicts the bust of Ferdinand Charles or Ferdinand III, the ruler of Austrian Tyrol at the time, facing right on the obverse. The obverse has the legend "FERDIN CAROL: D: G: ARCHID:AV" along the edge surrounding the emperor's bust with the date 1649split by the bust. The reverse has two shields within a circle with the one on the right being the Tyrol arms and the one on the left being the Austrian shield. The reverse has the legend "DVX.BVRGGVND:COM.TYROLIS" surrounding the shields along the edge with the denomination below. The coin is graded by CNG as AU 55 and comes in a plastic slab so marked. It measures approximately 20 mm in diameter and should weigh ~1.6 gm. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size and Weight: This is a 3 Kreuzer should weighs 1.6 grams and is ~20 mm in diameter.

Condition: The coin is graded as about uncirculated or AU 55 by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so marked. It is nice looking and has great eye appeal. It shows light wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. A true rarity in such high grade (Krause recognizes XF as being the highest grade to price).
