Description: A nicely toned, choice very fine or much better Peruvian crown size silver coin. This is an eight reales silver coin. The coin depicts the laureate bust of King Charles IIII of Spain facing right on the obverse. The bust is surrounded with the legend "CAROLUS*IIII*DEI*GRATIA*1805" along the edge. The reverse has the crowned Spanish arms surrounded by two pillars. The reverse has the legend "HISPAN.ET.IND.REX.ME.8R.J.P." with the LIMA mint mark in monogram. The coin has the edge with raised rectangles and circles, which shows considerable wear. It is nicely toned, has nice eye appeal. This is KM 97, should weigh ~26.9 grams and is ~39 mm in diameter. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1805.

Mint: Lima, Peru.

Size and Weight: This is an eight reales, which is approximately 39 mm in diameter and weighs ~26.9 gm of 0.896 silver.

References: It is KM #97.

Condition: I would grade the coin as choice VF or much better (the more we examine the coin the more we feel the coin is an EF to AU but you be the judge). The coin is very nicely and evenly toned and shows light overall even and honest wear. The coin has a few bumps to the edge and some minor marks in the fields such as scratches and bag marks. It is in original circulated condition with wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It looks great and would make a great addition to your collection. It is better than the photos suggest. Please see photo for additional condition information.
