Description: A nice French mint state bronze medal dated May 3, 1814 to commemorate the entry of King Louis 18th into Paris and restoring the royalty. The medal has a high relief bust of Louis XVIII facing on the obverse with the legend "LOUIS XVIII ROI DE FRANCE ETDE NAVARE" surrounding it. The bust has the name ANDRIEU.F. in raised lettering on the bottom. The reverse of the medal shows the king and queen in a chariot with two figures representing town and people of Paris welcoming them with raised hands, one carrying the keys to the city on a cushion. Victory as an angel, holding palm branch, flying left above the procession. The reverse has the legend "LOUIS XVII ENTRE A PARIS/III.MAI MDCCCXIV" in exergue. The reverse is signed BRENET on the bottom. The medal has a nice brown colored finish and has great eye appeal. The medal has a plain and unmarked edge.
