1843 France Bronze Medal St. Vincent De Paul Good Shepherd Jesus by Marius Penin
Description: A beautiful and rather scarce small bronze medal from Lyon France. The medal is dated 1843 and depicts the bust of St. Vincent De Paul facing right on the obverse. It has the inscription "OMNIBVS• OMNIA• - FACTVS• SVM•" along the edge surrounding the bust and the inscription "M• PENIN• F• LVGD• 1843•" below it. The reverse shows the image of Jesus (the good shepherd standing with sheep at his feet and the legend "EGO SVM PASTOR BONVS" surrounding the image along the edge and the words "RETRAITE PASTORALE" in exergue. The medal has the images in high relief especially the bust of St. Vincent. It is nicely toned and has a very pleasing brown coloring. Both obverse and reverse have circular raised rim. The medal has a plain edge with no markings. A beautiful religious medal to add to your collection. The medal is nicely toned and has chocolate toning with very nice eye appeal. A nice-looking medal, which would make a worthy addition to any collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
