  • $ 74.99

Description:   A beautiful extremely fine or much better 1327 AH year 3 of Muhammad V reign, or 1911 AD, Egyptian five Qirsh (or pistres) silver coin. The coin depicts the tughra of Muhammad the fifth with the denomination under it and a rose to its right all surrounded by branches and having two crossing quivers under it and seven stars above it. The reverse says "Duribah Fi Misr" or struck in Egypt with the number 3 over the "beh" in duribah (for 3rd reginal year of Muhammad's reign) and the date 1327 AH under it for the year when Muhammad V ascended the throne, all surrounded by branches and having three stars on top. Just a beautiful design!  The coin is beautiful and is attractively toned with all the details being preserved and readable and having a beautiful lustrous appearance. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date:  1911.

Mint:  Egypt, actually these coins were struck in Birmingham England as evidenced by the mint letter "H" in the bottom of the obverse.

Size and Weight:  This is a 5 Qirsh, weighs approximately 7 grams of 0.833 silver and is about 26 mm in diameter.

Condition:  I would grade this coin as a nice extremely fine or much better with all the details being there and having nice eye appeal. The coin is lustrous, beautiful with some nice toning. It does have minor scratches, bag marks, some minor nicks to the edge, and wear commensurate with its age and circulated status.  The coin has nice eye appeal.
