Description: A beautiful 1951 five shillings or one crown copper-nickel coin from the United Kingdom. The coin displays King George VI bust facing left on the obverse and Saint George on his horse slaying the dragon and facing right on the reverse. The coin has the words "GEORGIVS VI. D:G: BR:OMN:REX F: D:" surrounding the king's bust and the denomination "FIVE SHILLINGS" below it on the obverse. The reverse is marked "1951" below St. George's image. The coin is marked "MDCCCLI CIVIUM INDUSTRIA FLORET CIVITA" along the edge. This coin was issued for the Festival of Britain. The coin has mirror like field and retains full luster. Condition: I would grade this coin as a proof like brilliant uncirculated. The coin has mirror like fields and is lustrous. The coin is much better than the scan suggests with some scratches in the fields and minor dings along the edge, but no observable wear. It is beautiful with great looking shiny fields.
