Description: A nice, brilliant uncirculated to about proof silver coin from Egypt. This is the 1960 (1380 AH) twenty Egyptian piasters silver coin.  The obverse of the coin depicts a standing eagle with a shield on its chest. The shield displays the tri-colored flag of the United Arab Republic, which was red, white, and black with two green stars in the center. The stars stood for Egypt and Syria. The coin was struck during the time when Egypt and Syria formed the so-called United Arab Republic. The coin is labeled (al-Gomhouryah al-Arabyah al-Mutahida) United Arab Republic, has the indication Misr (Egypt) on the reverse indicating the coin was circulated in Egypt, and has the date as well as denomination also on the reverse. It is KM-399 and weighs ~14.0 grams of 0.720 silver. It measures approximately 33 mm in diameter and has a reeded edge. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1960 AD - 1380 AH.

Mint: Egypt.

Size and weight: This is a twenty piastres, weighs ~14 grams of 0.72 silver and is ~33 mm in diameter.

References: It is KM #399.

Condition: I would grade the coin as a beautiful brilliant uncirculated to proof like. The coin has nice and clear fields. It is much nicer than the photos suggest. The coin has no wear and a minimum of surface marks. The coin is in excellent uncirculated condition with a lustrous appearance. These coins, which were issued in 1960 and 1966, are rather rare and of limited mintage so here is your opportunity to secure one for your collection. The coin is much better than the photos show with very nice eye appeal. Please see photo for additional condition information.
