Beautiful 1706 Italian Papal State Pope Clement XI Anno VI Copper Medal Rome Mint Port of Ripetta Obverse

Description: A beautiful 1706 copper medal from the Italian Papal States. This medal shows the bust of Pope Clement XI facing left on the obverse. The pope's bust is surrounded by the legend "CLEMENS*XI*P*M*AN*VI*" along the edge. There is the inscription HERAMUS under the bust. The reverse has the image of the port of Ripetta with the legend "COMMODITATI.ET.ORNAMENTO" above it along the edge. There is also the date 1706 in roman numerals MDCCVI in the bottom of the obverse. The medal weighs ~22.1 grams and measures ~39 mm in diameter. This is a beautiful medal with well done details and having a beautiful chocolate toning throughout. It is beautiful and has a great portrait of the Pontiff and the seaport. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade the medal as about uncirculated or much better with minimum observable wear. The details of the medal are extremely well expressed and nicely preserved. The medal has a beautiful light chocolate toning throughout. It has a nice portrait of the Pontiff with minimum observable wear as does the image of the seaport on the reverse. The medal shows good preservation of the details. It is nicely toned and has great eye appeal. It would make a nice addition to your collection.
