1742 Austria Silver Coin Quarter Thaler Empress Maria Theresa Facing Right XF+
Description: Beautiful extremely fine silver coin from Austria. This is the 1742 quarter Thaler silver coin. The coin depicts the bust of Maria Theresa, the empress of Austrian, Hungry and Bohemia in the period 1740-1780, facing right on the obverse. The obverse has the legend "MARIA.THERESIA.D:G.REG.HUNG.BOH." along the edge surrounding the empress' bust. The reverse depicts the crowned coat of arms of Austria flanked by branches and dragon heads with tongues out with the domination below. The reverse has the legend "ARCHID.AUST.DUX (1/4)BURG.COM.TYP.1742" surrounding the image along the edge with the denomination below. The coin measures approximately 30 mm in diameter and should weigh ~6.8 gm. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
