1828 BEL Silver Coin From Switzerland Swiss Five Batzen Canton Vaud ANACS AU53

Description: A nice looking About Uncirculated coin from Switzerland. This is the 1828 five batzen silver coin issued by the Canton of Vaud. The obverse of the coin shows the canton of Vaud Shield which is white and green and has the words "Liberty et Patrie" on top within springs and having the legend "Canton De Vaud 1828" surrounding the shield and the denomination below it. There are the letters "BEL" below the denomination. The reverse shows a wide cross within a fancy and highly decorated quatrelobe design. There is the legend "LES CANTONS CONCORDANTS DE LA SUISS" surrounding the design and the letter "C" in the center of the cross. The coin is listed as KM 21.1 in Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins and should weigh about ~4 gm (we are unable to weigh it since it is in a slab) and is ~26 mm in diameter. The piece is lightly toned with some residual luster and has great eye appeal. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
