1979 Egypt Silver One Pound Coin Commemorating 1971 Corrective Revolution Proof
Description: A nice proof 1979 (1399 AH) One Egyptian Pound silver coin. The coin, which commemorates the May 15, 1971 corrective revolution, depicts the head of a woman to the right of the obverse with the date 15 May 1971 to the left of the head with a shining sun above the head. There is also an olive branch below the head along the edge of the coin. The reverse of the coin has the denomination, one pound, spelled out in the center with the words "Arab Republic of Egypt above it and a beautiful arabesque pattern below it. The denomination is flanked by the date both in AD and AH. This is KM #473, weighs ~14.9 grams of 0.72 silver, and measures approximately 35 mm in diameter. The coin has a reeded edge. Condition: I would grade this coin as proof with nice mirror-like fields and beautiful luster. The coins details are very well preserved and showing minimum wear if any. The coin is great looking and shows beautiful details over nice clear mirror-like fields. The coin shows some light scratches. These are minor as can be seen in the photos.
